It comes down to what happens next on the ground. If you're building, paving, or grading, you need clearing, because you need a clean surface and the stumps out. If you just want the property opened up so you can walk it, see across it, or run livestock on it, mulching is usually faster and cheaper and leaves a mulch layer that holds the soil. We'll tell you which one your job actually needs when we walk it.

Not if it's done right. Clearing does disturb the ground more than mulching, that's the tradeoff. We leave it rough-graded and shaped so water runs where it should, instead of leaving you a rutted field to fix yourself.

It can change if you're inside city limits, moving significant dirt, or working near a stream buffer. We'll flag it during the walkthrough if your site looks like it needs a closer look. Check with your county for anything binding.

It depends on acreage, how thick the timber is, how steep the ground is, and what happens to the debris. Anybody who quotes you over the phone without seeing it is guessing.
